Benefits of CBD

Anxiety Relief

Many people turn to CBD to help manage anxiety. Researchers believe it may change how your brain reacts to serotonin - a chemical related to mental health. Serotonin receptors receive chemical messages and help your cells respond to different stimuli. Studies have shown CBD also relieves anxiety by reducing stress, managing the physiological effects of anxiety (increased heart rate), improving symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and inducing sleep in cases of insomnia.

Pain Relief

The effects of CBD on your brain’s receptors may also help manage pain. Combined with its anti-inflammatory properties, it reduces and relieves symptoms of arthritis, chronic pain, MS pain, muscle pain, and spinal injuries. Additionally, we’ve personally experienced relief from headaches, migranes, menstrual cramps, and more.

Neuroprotective

Researchers are optimistic about the ability of CBD to help people with neurodegenerative disorders, which are diseases that cause the brain and nerves to deteriorate over time. CBD treatments are being studied involving Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson’s disease, and stroke. The anti-inflammatory benefits of CBD may help reduce the inflammation that can make these diseases worse.

Anti-seizure

The American Epilepsy Society thinks cannabidiol research offers hope for seizure disorders and epilepsy. Effective doses and safe uses are still being studied; however, one study shows that oral doses of 2-5mg of CBD per day (added to their existing anti-epilepsy medications) reduced seizures by 36.5% per month.

Anti-acne

The effects of CBD on immune system receptors may help reduce overall inflammation in the body. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation found that CBD reduced activity in sebaceous glands, responsible for producing sebum, a naturally oily substance that hydrates skin (too much sebum can lead to acne.) Consult your dermatologist before considering CBD for acne treatment.

Cancer Treatment

Current studies are investigating the role CBD may play in preventing cancer cell growth. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) states that CBD may help alleviate cancer symptoms and cancer treatment side-effects. The NCI doesn’t fully endorse any form of cannabis as a cancer treatment; however, it may be an effective tool for moderating inflammation and changing how cells reproduce. CBD reduces the ability of some types of tumor cells to reproduce.
